A.R.D.'S COMMISSIONED STATIC DISPLAYS
The Atlas Dinner in Chesapeake Virginia wanted something different for its new restaurant. They created a doomed ceiling to simulate a hanger. In keeping with the war bird theme they chose the FAU Corsair, the P-40E Warhawk and the P-51 Mustang. We built, painted and displayed the models in the ceiling. To complete the aviation motif we designed and constructed two six foot three bladed prop, spinner and cowl displays out of fiberglass. We painted the displays using high gloss black and red acrylic urethane . The Atlas Diner vinyl decals we created add a nice finishing touch. This was a fun project to undertake, and it's nice to drive by and see the cowl assembly on the front of the Dinner.
